Philip Lutgendorf(2018)

Philip Lutgendorf, recently retired from the University of Iowa, where he was a Professor of Hindi and Modern Indian Studies, is the author of two works on the Ramayana tradition, The Life of a Text and Hanuman’s Tale, and is currently translating Tulsidas’s 16th-century Epic of Ram in seven dual-language volumes for the Murty Classical Library of India. He also writes on Hindi-language (“Bollywood”) cinema and the cultural history of “chai” in South Asia.
