Sunil Khilnani is author of The Idea of India, published in a 20th anniversary edition in 2017, and most recently Incarnations: A History of India in Fifty Lives, accompanied by a 50-part BBC Radio and podcast series. He is Avantha Professor and Director at the India Institute at King’s College London.
