NUR SOBERS-KHAN(2018)

Nur Sobers-Khan is the Lead Curator for South Asia Collections at the British Library, London.  She is the principal investigator for the AHRC/Newton-Babha funded digitisation project, ‘Two Centuries of Indian Print 1713-1914,’ which aims to digitise the British Library’s early printed Bengali, Assamese and Sylheti collections and will be made freely available online. Before her current position, Dr Sobers-Khan worked as a curator at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar, where she curated the exhibition, ‘Building Our Collection: Mughal and Safavid Albums’ and co-curated, ‘Qajar Women: Images of Women in 19th-century Iran’. She was previously the Iran Heritage Curator for Persian manuscripts at the British Library, where she was engaged in creating a digital reference tool for their Persian manuscripts.
