Yann Martel(2020)
Yann Martel is the author of a collection of short stories and four novels, most notably Life of Pi, which won him the 2002 Man Booker Prize, was a global bestseller, and was adapted to the silver screen by Ang Lee, garnering four Oscars. Martel also ran a guerilla book club with Stephen Harper, sending the former Prime Minister of Canada a book every two weeks for four years, a total of 101 novels, plays, poetry collections, graphic novels, and children’s books. Each gift was accompanied by a letter explaining the worth of the book. For all his efforts, Martel received not a single reply from the Prime Minister. The letters have been published as a book, 101 Letters to a Prime Minister.
