Marcus Moench works on water, climate and social change issues in South Asia, the United States, and globally. Combining narratives of transformation and resilience in complex social-ecological systems, he spans culture, art and science in pursuit of change. Hiking over 800 km along the continental divide and Colorado trails during the summer of 2021, he collected observations and narratives of change at the ground level. He founded the Institute for Social and Environmental Transition in 1997 and obtained his PhD from the Energy and Resources Group at U.C., Berkeley in 1990.
