Katherine Butler Schofield is a historian of music and listening in Mughal India. Through stories about powerful courtesans, legendary maestros and captivated patrons, she writes of sovereignty and selfhood, friendship and desire, sympathy and loss, and power, worldly and strange. Her latest co-edited book is Monsoon Feelings. She is a keen podcaster and has a series titled Histories of the Ephemeral.
