Priyamvada Natarajan
Priyamvada Natarajan holds the Joseph and Sophia S. Fruton Professorship of Astronomy and Physics at Yale. She is also currently the Chair of the Astronomy Department. Author of the critically acclaimed book Mapping the Heavens: The Radical Scientific Ideas that Reveal the Cosmos, Priya has made seminal contributions to our current understanding of the formation and growth of black holes. Recipient of many awards & honors including the Guggenheim and Radcliffe fellowships, she has also served the chair of the Division of Astrophysics of The American Physical Society and the chair of the National Astronomy & Astrophysics Advisory Committee that advises NASA, NSF and DoE. Recently she was named on the TIME 100 list of most influential people in the world for 2024.
