Margo Jefferson is a Pulitzer Prize-winning cultural critic and the author of Negroland: A Memoir and On Michael Jackson. Negroland received the 2015 National Book Critics Circle Award for Autobiography, The Bridge Prize, The Heartland Prize, and was shortlisted for the Baillie Gifford Prize. It was also named one of the 50 best memoirs of the last 50 years by the The New York Times. Jefferson teaches in the Writing Program at Columbia University.
