Vazira Fazila-Yacoobali Zamindar is associate professor of History at Brown University, and author of The Long Partition and the Making of South Asia: Refugees, Boundaries, Histories. Her recent writings on the Partition of 1947 include Why the Partition is Not an Event of the Past and Exile, Statelessness and the Tenacity of Nostalgia.
