Vauhini Vara(2023)
Vauhini Vara's debut novel, The Immortal King Rao, was a New York Times Notable Book and the winner of the Atta Galatta Bangalore Literature Festival Book Prize. It has also been shortlisted for the National Book Critics Circle’s John Leonard Prize, the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize, and the Tata Literature Live First Book Award, and named a best book of the year by The New York Times, NPR and others. It will be followed by a story collection, This is Salvaged, this fall. Vara is a journalist, essayist, and editor as well.
