Vidya Shah

Vidya Shah, trained in Carnatic music, Khayal, Thumri, Dadra, and Ghazal, has performed at renowned venues like the Tansen Samaroh, The Kennedy Center, The Asia Society, and the Bode Museum. She has received the Charles Wallace India Trust Award, a Senior Fellowship for Women on Record, and a Tagore Scholarship. Shah authored Jalsa: Indian Women and Their Journeys from the Salon to the Studio and served as the Nana Shirgaokar Chair Professor for Indian Music at Goa University. She also debuted in Bollywood with the nazm ‘Bol’ in Manto.
