Genell Ellison, MBA A.K.A. Rukus(2022)
Genell Ellison, MBA A.K.A. Rukus of Denver, CO, performs for and hosts numerous poetry venues throughout Colorado. In addition to hosting her open mic and podcast, Rukus serves the community by conducting youth poetry workshops and mentoring at-risk adolescents. She has also published a children's book entitled Monsters in the Cookie Jar, and released three highly raved spoken word albums: Say Dat; a double cd, Bipolar Tendencies, and The Chronicles of a Preacher's Daughter. Rukus combined singing, writing, and her cometry style in a DVD entitled Who is She? She performs several genres of poetry but is known for her intricate style of mixing comedy with poetry, which she calls “cometry.”
