On Fire: The Burning Case for a Green New Deal
Naomi Klein in conversation with Kiran Trehan
The University of York and its student union join forces with JLF Brave New World to launch a new engagement platform, York Ideas, to present a compelling talk by Naomi Klein on the urgent need to combat the profound global impacts of the intersection of the climate crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic. Klein, an acclaimed writer and activist, will present a mandate for action that includes an assessment of how Covid-19 offers us an opportunity to re-set how society might function in the future. Her talk will be accompanied by the first screening of a short film created by Molly Crabapple offering a beautiful evocation of how we can create a better future by thinking about how society might function differently. Join us to be stimulated, engaged and inspired about what might be possible for the future.
