The Fire Starters:

Jan Carson in conversation with Jayanti Naju Seth

"Belfast-based writer Jan Carson won accolades, including The European Union Prize for Literature, Ireland, for her novel The Fire Starters. Her work is marked by caustic wit and lyrical style. The Fire Starters is a mediation on identity, culture and fatherhood, which weaves through the fluid lines between fantasy and truth and ideas of right and wrong. Carson's other work includes books such as Postcard Stories, Children's Children and Malcolm Orange Disappears. In a conversation with academic Jayanti Seth, Carson explores her writing practise, Irish literature and her deep interest in Agatha Christie. "
