On the Power of Big Tech and Surveillance Capitalism

Carl Miller in conversation with Mihir S. Sharma

Multinational corporations are being shut overnight with a single tweet, Facebook has grown bigger than any state, robots are battling for elections, coders and hackers are writing policies and algorithms are shaping our lives in more than unimaginable ways. Carl Miller's Transmission Prize-winning 'The Death of the Gods' reveals the fascinating and often hidden characters of the digital realm that are changing the world. In this timely and incisive session, Miller, co-founder of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media, explores power in the age of digital media and traces how it is being transformed, fought over, lost and won.
