Marina Warner has published studies of myths and fairy tales, including the award-winning Stranger Magic about the Arabian Nights. Fairy Tale: A Very Short Introduction and Forms of Enchantment: Writings on Art and Artists were published last year. She is working on a study of Sanctuary, in relation to the project www.StoriesinTransit.org, and writing an ‘unreliable memoir’ about her childhood in Cairo. In 2015, she was awarded the Holberg Prize in the Arts and Humanities and was made DBE. She is Professor of English and Creative Writing at Birkbeck College and President of the Royal Society of Literature.
