It is now an international bestseller and tells the story of 1947 month by month, examining in particular the governmental and military failings. His previous books includeHorse Guards: The Military, Political and Social History of the British Household Cavalry and Of Living Valour: The Story of the Soldiers Who Fought at Waterloo. Sir White-Spunner is a former soldier who commanded the British Field Army.
