William Dalrymple

William Dalrymple is one of Britain’s great historians and the bestselling author of the Wolfson Prize-winning White Mughals, The Last Mughal, which won the Duff Cooper Prize, and the Hemingway and Kapuscinski Prize-winning Return of a King. In 2016, a Hindustani translation of The Last Mughal was released as Aakhri Mughal and in 2018 Dalrymple was awarded the prestigious President's Medal of the British Academy. His latest book is The Anarchy: The East India Company, Corporate Violence and the Plunder of an Empire. Dalrymple is one of the founders and a co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival.
